Draft South Saskatchewan Regional Plan - Consultation Underway

The Government of Alberta is looking for your feedback on the Draft South Saskatchewan Regional Plan (2013) for southern Alberta. From November 5 through November 28, public information sessions and stakeholder workshops will be hosted in 18 locations in southern Alberta and in Edmonton, Red Deer and Drumheller. Detailed information regarding dates and locations of the consultation sessions is offered below.

Participants must RSVP for stakeholder workshops to ssrp@stantec.com or call 403-716-8325.  Workshop times are from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Public sessions run from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and since they are open house sessions, there isn't any need to call ahead to reserve a seat.

Remaining sessions in southwest Alberta include:

Cardston, November 19:  Cardston and District Seniors Centre, 260 First St. West

Fort Macleod, November 20:  Fort Macleod & District Community Hall, 307 25th St (Hwy 3 West)

Pincher Creek, November 26: Community Hall, 287 Canyon Drive

Whether you are able or unable to attend these sessions, you can provide your comments on the draft plan through an online workbook or print and complete the Discussion Guide - Draft South Saskatchewan Regional Plan Workbook (2013). The completed paper version should be submitted to:

Fidler-Chapel Rock Transmission Project, Upcoming Open Houses

AltaLink will be hosting public open houses regarding the Fidler to Chapel Rock Transmission Project, part of the Southern Alberta Transmission Reinforcement initiative.  The Open Houses will be held in Pincher Creek on November 25 and December 1 (Heritage Inn, 4 - 8 pm) and in Lundbreck on November 30 (Lundbreck Community Hall, 4 - 8 pm).  

There will also be an information centre open to the public at the Ranchlands Mall in Pincher Creek, from noon to 8 pm on December 7-9 and 13-15.  

Stakeholders may also contact AltaLink to arrange for one-on-one consultation.

The public input from these consultation initiatives will inform route selection for the Fidler - Chapel Rock Transmission Project, in respect of which AltaLink plans to file an Application to the Alberta Utilities Commission for approval.
