Grants
The Community Grant Specialist assists with funding proposals, expressions of interest, applications, editing and submissions.
With our charitable status, funder relationships, and proven track record, SASCI lends its credentials to grant applications composed by the agent-partners.
SASCI approves and signs grant applications on behalf of its agent-partners.
SASCI manages and disburses the funds received on behalf of its agent-partners according to the fund agreements.
SASCI’s administrator provides financial information required for grant applications, reports and budgets.
SASCI’s administrator keeps track of grant report deadlines for agent-partners.
Once a project has been approved by the board, a Letter of Support may be provided, upon request, by SASCI’s Board of Directors.
Bookkeeping
SASCI pays a monthly subscription for a Quickbooks online accounting program with which to track agent-partner income & expense transactions.
Expenses are applied to projects & grant funds for easier reporting.
Financial reports are provided upon request to the agent-partners.
Vendors, contractors and reimbursements are paid on behalf of agent-partners upon submission of documentation (receipts, expense claims, invoices).
Funds belonging to agent-partners are deposited on behalf of agent-partners at the bank.
Payroll
SASCI pays a monthly subscription to Quickbooks for an online payroll program.
Payroll services include: calculation of deductions, regular payments to employees, and access to employee payslips.
Payroll expenses are applied to the the agent-partner’s account.
Monthly payroll taxes are paid to the CRA on behalf of the employer (the agent-partner).
Employee ROEs are provided upon employment termination.
Employee T4 slips are provided annually before the end of February.
Communication
Agent-Partners provide SASCI with regular updates and reports on projects and funds.
The Grant Specialist and SASCI’s administrator send regular reminders and information from funders and Alberta Community Development.
Update SASCI’s website with relevant information for and about our agent-partners.
SASCI’s administrator sends reminders to the agent-partners reminders of interim and final report dates.
Charity Status
An annual Charity Return is filed on behalf of all agent-partners.
Official charity receipts are provided to the donors of each agent-partners.
Alberta Registries
The Alberta Societies Return is filed annually, under which agent-partners are covered.
